Rebecca Kutler is the President of MSNBC, a top destination for breaking news, in-depth analysis, and opinion journalism across cable, audio, and digital media.
Under Kutler’s leadership, MSNBC has become one of the most-watched cable news networks to date in 2025, averaging 1.2 million primetime viewers. MSNBC’s audience is among the most engaged in the industry, with viewers tuning in nearly eight hours weekly. With Kutler at the helm, MSNBC’s digital presence has reached new heights, garnering 6.8 billion combined viewers across YouTube and TikTok in 2025 year to date, making the network a top destination for political news consumption and #1 on YouTube. She has built a robust, independent MSNBC, notably with widely lauded additions to expand the company’s rapidly expanding newsgathering operation.
Previously, Kutler served as Senior Vice President for Content Strategy for the network, where she oversaw all of the brand’s non-linear business units, including podcasts, films, live events and digital products. She spearheaded the launch of “MSNBC Live,” a first-of-its-kind live event series, and supercharged the network’s investment in its digital products, which saw double-digit, year-over-year growth and averaged 30 million monthly unique visitors in 2024. Kutler also created “MSNBC Premium, an Apple Podcasts subscription that offers ad-free listening, early access and exclusive bonus content, as well as expanded MSNBC’s award-winning audio portfolio with chart-topping podcasts.
Kutler also previously oversaw MSNBC’s dayside programming and is responsible for developing and launching several of the network’s marquee programs, including “The Briefing with Jen Psaki,” “The Weeknight” and “The Weekend.”
Before joining MSNBC, she served as the Senior Vice President at CNN. In 2012, Kutler received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Coverage for her work as a Senior Producer on CNN’s “Election Night in America” coverage. She has also received two Peabody Awards and two duPont-Columbia Awards as part of her work at CNN.
A mother of three, Kutler holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communication from The George Washington University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from Columbia University.
